The Pest Management Council of the Philippines (PMCP),
Inc.
The PMCP management and its co-sponsors wish to announce and invite all PMCP
members, patrons and friends to attend the 38 th Annual Scientific Conference
to be held on 20-23 March 2007 at Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Background
The PMCP, Inc. is composed of three (3) scientific societies; PAE, PPS and
WSSP and three (3) associations; CropLife, CPAP and PCAP. The three
societies are engaged in research, training and extension on pest management.
CropLife and CPAP are engaged in discovery, development, importation, formulation
and distribution of crop protection chemicals while PCAP is engaged in urban
pest management.
A Glimpse of Bohol
(Conference Venue)
To the first timers, this will be one life-long memorable experience
to physically be "in touch" with the tarsier primates of the island; to take
a special glimpse of one of the wonders of the world - the Chocolate Hills
of Bohol ; and feel the historical nostalgia of the immortal Blood
Compact between Sikatuna and Legaspi : an all perfect combination
for the 38 th PMCP Conference which will be held for the first time in the tropical
island of Bohol.
Call for Papers
The conference program shall consist of plenary sessions in the morning and
concurrent scientific sessions in the afternoon. The plenary sessions
shall be composed of invited papers dealing with pest management and eco-tourism
and effective pest management strategies in crops. The scientific
sessions will be composed of oral paper presentations (PAE, PPS and WSSP) and
poster presentation by PAE and PPS. The scientific sessions shall be
open to all member societies and associations.

03 January 2007 - Submission of titles and abstracts
to the various societies
12 January 2007 - Submission of nominations
for the awards to the various societies
19 January 2007 - Societies' submission
of titles and abstracts to PMCP; Societies' submission
of nominations for the various awards to PMCP
REGISTRATION
Registration fee is Php 3,000.00 which will cover convention bag and
related materials, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks.
ACCOMMODATION
List of hotels and detailed bookings are included in this circular. The
participant is requested to contact the hotel for his/her hotel reservation.
FIELD TRIP
There will be a field trip to the scenic spots of Bohol on the third day of
the conference. The
trip itinerary will be given on the first day of
the conference.
